Most Shocking Second a Day video

Most Shocking Second a Day video General conventions The campaign name of this charity is 'Save Syria's Children'. It is not mentioned throughout the video at any point leaving the viewer in curiosity about what the advert is about until the end of the video where there is text reading '#SAVESYRIASCHILDREN'. This may have been intended by the director to only show what this is about at the end once it has captured everyone's attention to watch till the end. The setting starts from a young white girl's home and shows a second in a day of her life and through a period a chaos that surrounds her. There is an overall happy tone at the start to the point where it starts to turn disastrous.  Camera and editing For all of the video, the only shot that is present is a close-up of the young white girl. This is likely to have been done on purpose to show the girl's facial expressions whilst also capturing the surroundings in the background to show how the surround...

WaterAid Advert

WaterAid Advert UK represented in the advert There's only a one-second clip of the UK. We do not actually know if it is the UK or not, but we can assume it is since in the background we can hear a woman with an English accent announcing that it will rain. A radio can be seen in front of a window with rain droplets trailing down the window. Behind the window, it seems as if it is someone's garden and gives the impression that it is set in a suburban area. Even though it is a brief scene, it stands out from the advert and shows how in the UK, people take the rainy weather for granted compared to a location in Africa where there is hardly rain water. Target audience The target audience is addressed from the start of the advert as people in the UK. From the first couple seconds of the advert showing a place in the UK, it is aimed towards UK residents, most specifically working-class people. The radio that is playing in the first couple seconds somewhere in the UK is mean...

Tide Print Advert

Tide Print Advert Layout The layout of the Tide poster advert appears bright and eye-catching on first glance. The poster shows a large picture of a woman who takes up most of the print to emphasise that this is directed to women. The picture shows the woman hugging a box of Tide washing detergent. There is big text in red at the top of the poster reading 'Tide's Got What Women Want!' There is also a line of text at the very top in a smaller sized text than the slogan showing 'No wonder you women buy more TIDE than any other washday product!' Next to the woman hugging the Tide box there is a box of text also emphasising 'No soap- no other "suds"- no other washing product known- will get your wash as CLEAN as TIDE!'  There are many hyperboles used for effect in this advert to exaggerate how good their product is such as "World's CLEANEST Wash!" and "World's WHITEST Wash!". There is also another picture of a women able thi...
